I always taught in suit trousers and a shirt, no tie, but others teach in shorts/t-shirt/ flip-flops... or jeans and a polo shirt.
The School would prefer you were more smartly dressed, and the students certainly appreciate it, but it very much depends on what you're comfortable in and your teaching style.
So, no, don't buy another suit. Get one tailored in the city when you're there, if you decide that's what you want to wear.

Although this doesn't exactly apply to Luke, but for female teachers - think about covering up your shoulders. Sounds bizarre, but on the whole girls in China keep them covered, it's quite a statement to get them out! I'd opt for a blouse, shirt or T-shirt over a strappy top. Otherwise, I wore whatever I liked to class and my feedback on the outfit was how many students wanted to take a picture with me at the end of that particular class!
