As I will be there really soon, I would like an honest opinion about the locals in ZZ.
I'm asking for personal/general/anecdotal/hearsay or anything you have to say about them.

Well, most of them are Chinese...
Seriously, though, Zhengzhou is no different to any other city in that the majority of people are very nice. There aren't many foreigners in the city so you won't encounter many scams and if you're friendly you'll have no problem meeting people keen to practice their English or wanting a photo taken with you. I'd imagine that some things would be difficult if you don't speak any Chinese as most vendors, taxi drivers, waiters, bus drivers, etc etc don't speak English at all.
Around the train station it's very busy with locals travelling and migrant workers from other areas of China. My students always warned me that some are bad and might pickpocket etc but I've never had a problem there. Has anyone else?
