Your rights are as specified in your contract. The School looks after us very well and the team in the office works hard (and long hours) to support teachers. They are on hand at all times to deal with any issues you may have.
They're really, really helpful too - one teacher travelled to Nanjing having forgotten his passport and was therefore unable to check into his hotel. He called the office for help, who spoke to the manager of the hotel and faxed the necessary information (proof of identity, a copy of the visa and work permit). He was then able to check in.
A further example would be when two teachers working off campus at another school (prohibited by their contract and the regulations of their visa) were caught in a police raid. The team straightened things out with the Public Security Bureau and the teachers were released on the promise of not working off campus in the future.
